I picked up metal in some 9th or 10th grade, thanks to best-friend influence. The first heavy metal song I ever listened to and instantaneously fell in love with is "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath.
Continuing the metal-head journey with little footsteps initially,I picked up this tape (from a friend who had no interest in metal at that time whatsoever but still got the tape cos the cover looked cool I suppose) which had a blue cover with super-cool graphics of a skeleton with holding a trapped soul in a transparent something (which is also tied to his rib cage) in one hand and the other hand trying to rip his other half of the rib cage. His head on fire and a furious energy ball for an eye. (You guessed it,It's Seventh Son Of The Seventh Son by Iron Maiden). I would have had to be blind not to be intrigued by this as a teenage guy.Dint quite understand the lyrics but found something fascinating in the music, something mysteriously eerie and at the same time very powerful.
In a few days after I fell for Maiden,I got my PC and it was filled with all kinds of mp3s(courtesy:friends) and all the albums of Maiden which had released till then was also filled in. Seventh Son Of The Seventh Son continued to fulfill my 'metal' needs for a long time and in due course of time Iron Maiden became God to me.
A couple of months ago,The Father bought me a new bike - A Silver CBZ X-Treme.And I found my long lost love. She was christened "Silver Maiden" and she sprang to life.Being a tall ride with breezy handling,it dint take much from her side to make me fall for her.At no point while riding does she feel out of power.Always ready to blast off at a mere turn of the throttle.A bit hard on pillion though, due to stiff back suspensions which I liked anyway for this adds to the breezy handling.(ans also Its more fun when its just the two of us you know[;)]).And yes,the number of heads that turn at the traffic junctions!I love it!
Totally satisfied and couldn't ask for more...
Rockon Maiden!!!
